Baseball Summer League Update #8

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Throughout the summer WVUsports.com will provide weekly updates of how current team members are doing in their respective summer leagues.

This edition features updates through games on Sunday, August 4.

Michael Bennett, Alaska Goldpanners, Alaska Baseball League
Season Recap: Bennett saw action in two games, allowing one earned run on five hits in 7.0 innings with five strikeouts.

Bobby Boyd, Bourne Braves, Cape Cod Baseball League
Season Recap: Boyd batted .306 with 21 runs, one double, one triple, four RBIs and five stolen bases in 30 games.

Michael Constantini, Quakertown Blazers, Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League
Last week: Constantini played in six games last week, registering a hit in five games and finishing the week 8-for-22 (.364). He added three runs, one double, two RBIs and five stolen bases.

Season Recap: Constantini finished the season batting .301 with 26 runs, eight doubles, one triple, 18 RBIs and 24 stolen bases in 40 games.

Brock Dykxhoorn, Mankato MoonDogs, Northwoods League
Last week: Dykxhoorn picked up a win, allowing two runs on four hits in 6.0 innings. He struck out four and walked two.

Season Recap: Dykxhoorn finished with a 3-3 record in nine starts with a 4.53 ERA. He struck out 34 in 49.2 innings

Billy Fleming, Philly Bandits
Fleming is playing for the Bandits, but stats are unavailable.

Justin Fox, Leesburg Lightning, Florida Collegiate Summer League
Season Recap: Fox finished the season batting .212 with 13 runs, seven doubles, one triple, one homer, and 14 RBIs in 34 games.

Ray Guerrini, Rockbridge Rapids, Valley Baseball League
Season Recap: Guerrini batted .214 with 14 runs, four doubles, one homer, six RBIs and seven stolen bases in 32 games. He also made four appearances on the mound with a 1.35 ERA, allowing seven hits with five strikeouts.

Ryan McBroom, Laconia Muskrats, New England Collegiate Baseball League
Last week: McBroom went 4-for-12 (.333) with one double and three RBIs in three games.

Season Recap: McBroom finished the season batting .325 with 17 runs, seven doubles, five homers and 26 RBIs in 32 games.

John Means, Falmouth Commodores, Cape Cod Baseball League
Last week: Means continued his standout summer, earning a win against Harwich. He pitched 6.0 innings of no-run ball, allowing one hit and striking out seven with no walks.

Season: Means has a 3-3 record in seven starts with a 1.99 ERA. He has struck out 35 in 40.2 innings pitched.

Taylor Munden, McKinney Marshals, Texas Collegiate League
Last week: Munden played in six games last week, batting 1-for-18 (.056) with one run and one RBI. He also pitched 2.0 innings, allowing no runs on three hits.

Season: Munden is batting .201 with 20 runs, seven doubles, six homers, 16 RBIs and seven stolen bases in 39 games. Munden has pitched 5.2 innings on the mound in four appearances, allowing seven hits with four strikeouts and two walks.

Max Nogay, New Bedford Bay Sox, New England Collegiate Baseball League
Last week: Nogay played in four games last week, batting 4-for-15 (.267) with one run, a grand slam home run and six RBIs.

Season Recap: Nogay finished the season batting .288 with 14 runs, eight doubles, three homers and 20 RBIs in 34 games.

Cameron O’Brien, Falmouth Commodores, Cape Cod Baseball League
Last week: O’Brien went 4-for-15 (.267) in four games last week with two runs, one double, one homer and four RBIs.

Season: O’Brien is batting .250 with seven runs, one double, one triple, two homer and seven RBIs in 19 games.

Pascal Paul, Wisconsin Woodchucks, Northwoods League
Season Recap: Paul finished the season 2-0 with a 7.29 ERA in 10 games, striking out six in 12.1 innings.

Jacob Rice, Anchorage Glacier Pilots, Alaska Baseball League
Last week: Rice went 3-for-17 (.176) last week with one double, one home run, one RBI and one walk.

Season Recap: Rice’s season is finished and he batted .195 with nine runs, one double, one home run and seven RBIs in 31 games.

Billy Sager, West Virginia Power, West Virginia Legion
Season: Statistics for Sager are unavailable.

Cody Semler, McKinney Marshals, Texas Collegiate League
Last week: Semler played in four games last week, batting 1-for-9 (.111 with one run, one RBI and three stolen bases.

Season: Semler is batting .220 with six runs, two doubles, one homer, seven RBIs and six stolen bases in 18 games.

Alex Stephens, DeLand Suns, Florida Collegiate Summer League
Last week: Stephens played in one game last week, batting 0-for-5 with one run.

Season Recap: Stephens finished the season batting .279 with 16 runs, four doubles, 11 RBIs and four stolen bases in 37 games.

Michael Teagle, Clippers, Karl Young College Baseball League
Season: Statistics for Teagle are unavailable.

Ryan Tezak, Hyannis Harbor Hawks, Cape Cod Baseball League
Last week: Tezak will now join Hyannis of the Cape Code League after Laconia missed the playoffs. Tezak saw action in two games for Laconia, allowing no runs on four hits in 1.0 inning. He also walked one batter.

Season: Tezak finished his season at Laconia with a 3-0 record with five saves in 15 appearances with a 1.44 ERA. He has struck out 24 in 18.2 innings pitched.

Shaun Wood, Vienna River Dogs, Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League
Last week: Wood batted 2-for-5 in three games with two runs and one walk last week.

Season Recap: Wood finished the season batting .242 with 11 runs, four doubles, one triple, two homers, 12 RBIs and four stolen bases in 35 games.
