Idle West Virginia also held steady in both college football polls, released earlier today.

The Mountaineers remained No. 8 in the USA Today coaches’ poll and No. 9 in the AP poll. Last week, West Virginia cracked the top 10 in both polls for the first time since Sept. 2, 2008 (64 consecutive polls). This week marks the 79th time in school history the Mountaineers have made an appearance in college football’s top 10.

West Virginia (1-0) returns to action this weekend in Landover, Md., facing James Madison, one of the top teams in FCS. The fifth-rated Dukes rolled to an easy 42-3 victory over Alcorn State last Saturday to begin the season 2-0 for just the second time since 2005. And the Dukes offense scored at least 40 points in back-to-back games for the first time since 2008.

Tickets for Saturday’s game are still available and can be purchased through the Washington Redskins. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m. and the game will air locally on Root Sports.

It will not be carried live in the Washington, D.C. area, however.
