Four former West Virginia University football players saw action in last week’s wild card round of the NFL playoffs.
Here is an update on each of them.
Adam Jones - Cincinnati Bengals
In the Bengals 19-13 loss to the Texans, Jones recorded one tackle and one pass breakup. In addition, he returned four kickoffs for 103 yards and one punt for no gain.
Jones’ season is now over.
Don Barclay - Green Bay Packers
In the Packers 24-10 win over the Vikings, Barclay started at right tackle for the fifth consecutive week.
With the win, the Packers will now face the 49ers in the Divisional round of the playoffs.
Pat McAfee - Indianapolis Colts
McAfee punted four times for a total of 194 yards – a 48.5 yards per punt average – in the Colts 24-9 loss to the Ravens.
McAfee’s season is now over.
Bruce Irvin - Seattle Seahawks
In the Seahawks 24-14 win over the Redskins, Irvin recorded one sack, one tackle for loss and had one pass breakup.
During the game, Seahawks’ starting defensive end Chris Clemons suffered a knee injury, which will likely lead to a more prominent role for Irvin in the Seahawks’ divisional round matchup against the Falcons.
