Stadium to Offer New Food Options
This season Mountaineer fans are going to have new and improved food options when it comes to Milan Puskar Stadium.
The stadium will feature five new concession concepts located throughout the concourses, according to Lara Bealko of Sodexo, the company that provides concession services at the stadium.
Fans will now be able to get their wing fix. Wow Wingery, which will be at Concession Stand Six on the East side, will feature fresh chicken wings in six different flavors, as well as freshly breaded chicken tenders and fries.
The Gourmet Hot Dog Stand will provide quarter pound hot dogs with different types of toppings. Bealko said they will have a Coney Island Dog, New York Dog, Pretzel Dog, Chicago Dog and a West Virginia Dog. Fans can find it in the Southwest stand located on the West concourse.
There will also be a new healthy food option called “Simply To-Go.” The two carts, one on each of the East and West sides, will feature items such as wraps, parfaits and peanut butter and jelly.
One of the biggest changes, and perhaps aromas, too, will be the addition of Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint at four new locations around the stadium. Martins Bar-B-Que Joint, which originated in Nolensville, Tennessee, opened up another restaurant at the Suncrest Towne Centre in February.
The restaurant’s large mobile station will be located in the North end zone behind the Touchdown Terrace.
“They will have the smoker there, so the smell will get out to the fans,” Bealko said.
There will be small satellite stands on the East and West concourses, as well as an additional trailer in the South end zone.
Also located in the South end zone will be “The End Zone Tap House,” a new option focused around draft beer and bar food. The signature item will be a cheddar bratwurst on a pretzel bun.
“That’s where we’ll feature Morgantown Brewing Company, as well as all the other beers we offer on draft,” Bealko said.
The draft beer at the tap house, as well as grill carts on the East and West sides, will feature new bottom-up filling taps. The beer will enter special plastic cups through the bottom.
“They take three seconds to pour a cup,” Bealko said. “And there’s very little waste.”
Also decreasing the waits for fans for refreshments is the addition of more registers at the grill carts on the East and West concourses. In previous season, those stands accepted cash only, but starting this season, credit cars will now be accepted.
“Last year that was a big issue because we didn't have the capability and it was cash only, but that will save some lines there too,” she said.
New ordering options will be available in the premium seating areas of the stadium. In the North end zone, waiters can take orders on new tablets that can finish credit card transactions at the seat. Luxury suites will now feature in-suite touch screen ordering with the installation of new wall tablets.
