West Virginia University Director of Athletic Marketing Markeisha Everett has received a scholarship to attend this week’s Rising AD’s Conference at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
The event will feature different facets of an athletic department from compliance to athletic communications to operations to marketing, etc. There also will be a number of assistant coaches attending.
“It’s good to keep up on the trends that are happening in our industry, not only on a marketing side, but throughout the industry as a whole,” Everett says. “It helps me be in touch with what is going on and helps us to serve Mountaineer fans.”
The schedule features talks from guest speakers, including South Carolina men’s basketball coach Frank Martin and Pitt men’s basketball coach Jamie Dixon.
A native of Cleveland, Everett joined WVU in 2013 and is responsible for the marketing, promotion and in-game entertainment for volleyball, wrestling, men’s basketball and baseball, while assisting the game-day promotions for football. She also works closely with the ticket office to maximize sales efforts for all ticketed varsity programs.
Everett graduated from Bowling Green with a bachelor’s degree in education in 2008 and received her master’s degree in sport administration from WVU in 2009.
