MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Beginning this Saturday, the West Virginia University Intercollegiate Athletic Department, in cooperation with the West Virginia State Police and the Department of Highways, has opted to test a new postgame traffic pattern following all WVU football games.

Don Nehlen Drive (formally Willowdale Drive) will now be one-way out from Milan Puskar Stadium all the way to Route 705, and all three lanes will be used for stadium traffic to exit the area. Two dedicated lanes will turn right on to Route 705 North, with easy access to the Mileground and I-68 and I-79, while one left hand lane will turn on to Route 705 South.

Medical Center Drive in front of WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital also will be one-way postgame. All Blue Lot parking to the east of the Physicians Office Center must turn right out of the lot onto Medical Center Drive and proceed to Don Nehlen Drive. Those parked west of the Physicians Office Center must turn left and proceed toward Patteson Drive/Van Voorhis Road.

The best way to access I-68 and I-79 following the game is via the Mileground.

Please note that primary routes have priority during postgame traffic. Please stay on primary routes postgame. Secondary routes will be held until priority routes are cleared.

New postgame traffic patterns are a work in progress. The WVU Intercollegiate Athletic Department, the West Virginia State Police and the Department of Highways reserve the right to tweak the patterns throughout the season to ease traffic.
