MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – This season, the West Virginia University gymnastics team will lift the veil and give Mountaineer fans a closer look in The Extra Tenth. Each week, a different gymnast will be featured.

The 15th edition spotlights senior Alaska Richardson. A native of Dayton, Ohio, Richardson has been unstoppable on vault and floor this season. A three-time Big 12 Event Specialist of the Week, she has scored 9.8 or better on each vault this year, including a career- and team-best 9.925 at Maryland on Feb. 17. She also scored 9.8+ on floor eight times, and she hit for a career-high 9.925 on Feb. 24. Currently ranked No. 48 (9.88 RQS) on floor, she paced the team on both events at last week’s Big 12 Gymnastics Championships, as she finished fourth (9.85) on vault and sixth (9.85) on floor.
