On Monday, the West Virginia University basketball travel party spent its final day in Rome taking in many more of the historic sites.

Some of the sites the travel party visited included the Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navana, Palazzo Madama, Pantheon, Temple of Hadrian and the Trinita dei Monti (The Spanish Steps).

The Mountaineers will depart Rome early Tuesday for a morning flight to Venice. WVU will spend Tuesday afternoon seeing the sights in Venice.

West Virginia and Illinois will spend Wednesday at Aviano Air Force Base in Venice providing entertainment to the members of the military. The entertainment activities include a basketball clinic for children of the military, grades sixth and under, a showcase of skills from the student-athletes with a dunk show and a scrimmage opportunity between student-athletes and select military personnel.

A basketball exhibition consisting of two 10-minute halves between WVU and Illinois will close out the day.

Be sure to check out WVU’s official men’s basketball Facebook page for 15 new photos from today in Rome.
