Kilicli, Harris Honored by Big 12

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University senior forward Deniz Kilicli
and freshman guard Eron Harris
were named to the all-Big 12 honorable mention men’s basketball team, announced Sunday.
Harris, from Indianapolis, Ind., currently leads the Mountaineers in scoring with an overall average of 9.9 points per game that includes a 12.5 points-per-game average in Big 12 play. Harris scored a season-high 25 points in a recent loss to Baylor and added 23 in a road defeat at Oklahoma on March 6.
Harris has scored double figures in each of his last four games and nine of his last 11 dating back to Feb. 2. Harris is shooting 42 percent from the floor including 35.5 percent from 3.
Kilicli shows averages of 8.8 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. Three times this season he has scored more than 20 points in a game against Marshall (21), Texas Tech (25) and Oklahoma (20) and shows 12 double figure scoring games this season. The Istanbul, Turkey resident will be playing in his 112th career game against Texas Tech this Wednesday in the opening round of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Men’s Basketball Championship at the Sprint Center in Kansas City.
Tipoff for the game is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the contest will be televised on the Big 12 Network.
