Mountaineer Nation has given an enormous thumbs-up to the idea of reestablishing the traditional Lets Go Mountaineers cheer.
MSNsportsNET’s John Antonik tells me the last time a topic has received this much feedback was following West Virginia’s Sugar Bowl victory over Georgia. Suffice it to say, we have touched the collective Mountaineer cheer nerve.
Based upon the comments, fans have had a long burning desire for this cheer to return, but didn’t exactly know how to make it happen. Thanks to social media it’s happening. We’ve been able to state the cause, receive your directive, and now we’re ready to unveil the proper way to perform the cheer.
My friend Jay Redmond, whose email began this campaign, has agreed to serve as the cheer instructor. Take a look and learn from this video.
Next Thursday night we’ll go back to the future and make the stadium vibrate with a classic cheer as the Mountaineers battle Colorado.
