MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University freshman Kadeisha Buchanan and the Canadian Women’s National Team fell, 1-0, to the United States Women’s National Team in a friendly match on Jan. 31, at Toyota Stadium, in Frisco, Texas.

The Mountaineer defender played all 90 minutes of the tight battle. The Brampton, Ontario, native has earned 90 minutes in four of the team’s last five matches, dating back to December’s Torneio Internacional Cidade de Sao Paolo.

The U.S. National Team, ranked No. 1 in the world, netted the lone goal in the 79th minute after a cross from the right side got behind the Canadian backline and found the foot of Sydney Leroux, who finished her chance from close range near the right post.

Buchanan, the 2013 Canadian U-20 Player of the Year, will return to Morgantown today and will continue spring training with the Mountaineers.
