ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF ATHLETIC COMMUNICATIONS: West Virginia University (WVU) invites applications for the position of Assistant/Associate Director of Athletic Communications. Duties and responsibilities include directing, planning and implementing media relations and publicity for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Applicants will be expected to coordinate with personal involvement the regional and national television coverage of women's basketball and other assigned sports to supervise the publicity efforts, including oversight of brochure preparation, news releases, media relations activities, event operations, result reporting, compiling results and records, liaison to the conference office, feature writing, assist in production of videos, travel to away games and other special assignments. Performance requires accuracy and professionalism with consciousness of the image projected. This position will assist with the daily responsibilities of graduate assistants and student assistants in their work with the varsity sports and assist with home game media operations for all sports. This is a twelve (12) month position. Master's degree, preferably in English,journalism, communications, sports administration or similar field. Relevant experience may be substituted for a Master's degree education. Minimum of two (2) years experience in sports information, athletic communications or sports media relations, are required. ATHLETIC TRAINER/CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR: West Virginia University  invites applications for the  position of an Athletic Trainer/Clinical Instructor. Duties and responsibilities include serving as an athletic trainer for Intercollegiate Athletics with primary responsibility of Women's Basketball and Rowing . This position will entail clinical supervision, sport assignment travel, supervision of a graduate assistant, and education of athletic training students, classroom teaching, and other duties as assigned. This is a twelve (12) month position . Master's  degree,  BOC  certification  and  minimum  of  two  (2)  years experience,  preferably in intercollegiate athletics, are required. Experience with CAATE accredited athletic training curriculum, athletic training teaching and clinical supervision of athletic training students is preferred. LEARNING SPECIALIST/ASSISTANT DIRECTOR FOR STUDENT-ATHLETE ACADEMIC SERVICES: West Virginia University invites applications for the position of Learning Specialist/Assistant Director for Student-Athlete Academic Services.  The position will be expected to specialize in working with the high-risk student-athlete population, including student-athletes with learning disabilities.  Duties and responsibilities include, developing coordinating and implementing individualized academic support plans and evaluating student-athletes to determine learning needs in addition to assisting with oversight of the tutoring program.  The position will serve as a liaison to the Office of Disability Support Services and Well WVU to coordinate intake interviews and learning disability testing.  The position will report directly to the Associate Athletic Director for Student Services and will supervise four Educational Counselors. Master's degree, preferably in special education, education, educational psychology or similar field, and three years previous experience is required.  Experience as a graduate assistant is acceptable. The position will direct and supervise the academic tutoring program for all student -athletes . Duties include recruitment, hiring, training, payroll and appraisal for all tutors. This position requires knowledge of NCAA eligibility requirements. The position will report directly to the Associate Director for Student-Athlete Academic Services . Master's degree, preferably in education , social science, counseling or similar field, and two years previous experience is required. Experience as a graduate assistant is acceptable. VOLLEYBALL VOLUNTEER ASSISTANT COACH: West Virginia University invites applications for the position of Volunteer Assistant Volleyball Coach. Duties and responsibilities include; assisting with the administration, management and supervision of the WVU women’s volleyball program. The primary responsibilities of this position may include; assisting in on court coaching activities including practice set up and break down, DataVolley, video breakdown, and on campus recruiting activities. The position may also require travel to away from home competitions. Previous club/collegiate volleyball coaching and/or previous playing experience is required. Additional requirements include knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, outstanding organizational skills, computer literacy and strong communication skills.  The position will report directly to the Head Women’s Volleyball Coach.
