ASSISTANT SPORTS INFORMATION DIRECTOR: West Virginia University (WVU) invites applications for the position of Assistant Sports Information Director. Duties and responsibilities include providing a consistent and continuing public relations program for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, primarily by maintaining a readily accessible, accurate and useful new and information service.  This position will direct the publicity and media relations efforts for women’s soccer and other assigned sports. Applicants will be expected to coordinate with personal involvement the regional and national television coverage of assigned sports games during each season and to supervise the publicity efforts for assigned sports, including oversight of brochure preparation, news releases, media relations activities, event operations, result reporting, compiling results and records, liaison to the conference office, feature writing, assist in production of videos, travel to away games and other special assignments. Performance requires accuracy and professionalism with consciousness of the image projected.  This position will assist with the daily responsibilities of graduate assistants and student assistants in their work with the varsity sports and assist with home game media operations for all sports.  This is a twelve (12) month position. Master's degree, preferably in English, journalism, communications, sports administration or similar field.  Relevant experience may be substituted for a Master’s degree education.  Minimum of two (2) years experience in sports information, athletic communications or sports media relations, are required. HEAD WRESTLING COACH: West Virginia University invites applications for the position of Head Wrestling Coach.  Duties and responsibilities include, recruiting, guiding, educating, and developing student-athletes to achieve their fullest potential with the fundamental characteristics and requirements that are necessary to conduct and produce a successful intercollegiate wrestling program, while instilling the importance of academic achievements at the Division I level. Develop and implement efficient and effective practice and competition plans that will provide a strong foundation for the program to develop and become successful at the highest level.  Ensures wrestling student-athletes’ adherence to all academic and athletic policies. Must communicate and interact with personnel in all support areas in the athletic department, as well as within the university community, parents, alumni, and fans. Direct and manage assistant coaches. Schedule home and away competitions. Maintain continual knowledge of all applicable NCAA, Conference, University and department rules and regulations. Bachelor’s degree and three-to-five years previous coaching experience, preferably at the Division I level, is required. Proven success in recruiting prospective student-athletes.
