MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women’s soccer team earned a No. 7 ranking in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Top 25, and a spot at No. 9 in the Soccer America Top 25, in today’s nationally released polls.

The Mountaineers remain at No. 2 in the NSCAA regional rankings, behind conference foe Notre Dame, who checks in at No. 1 in the Northeast region.

West Virginia is coming off a 1-1-0 weekend that included a road win at then-No. 5 Penn State, 2-1. It marked WVU’s highest ranked opponent defeated in school history.

The Mountaineers return to action as they play host to Duquesne on Thursday, Sept. 3, at 7 p.m., at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium. The match is the third in six days for West Virginia.
