EAST CAROLINA GAME RELEASE

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University football coaching staff has named its award winners for outstanding play in the 33-20 win against Liberty last Saturday.

Offensive Champion – Jarrett Brown and Don Barclay; Defensive Champion –J.T. Thomas and Julian Miller; Special Teams Champion – Tyler Bitancurt; Offensive Scout Champion – Payton Brooks; Defensive Scout Champion – Zach Flynt.

East Carolina (1-0) visits West Virginia (1-0) on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009, at 3:30 p.m. at Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium, as the two times collide for the 21st time on the gridiron.

This game also marks Varsity Club weekend, as the University welcomes back its former letterwinners on campus. The 19th WVU Sports Hall of Fame is being inducted at noon in the Caperton Indoor Practice Facility, and the 1969 Peach Bowl team will be recognized during the game.
