MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Noel Devine scored a 1-yard touchdown to help the South team defeat the North 24-10 in the 2011 Senior Bowl played Saturday afternoon in Mobile, Ala.
Devine finished the game with 8 yards rushing on seven carries, while also catching one pass for 12 yards. West Virginia teammate Jock Sanders caught one pass for seven yards, while defensive tackle Chris Neild was credited with two tackles.
The South defense limited the North to zero rushing yards on 19 carries and 238 total yards.
The Senior Bowl is comprised of the top senior players in college football who spend the week practicing and working out for NFL scouts. The South team was coached by the Buffalo Bills coaching staff while the North was coached by the Cincinnati Bengals staff.
The participation of Devine, Neild and Sanders now makes it eight consecutive years West Virginia has had at least one player invited to play in the Senior Bowl dating back to 2004. Since then, the Mountaineers have had 16 players invited to college football’s top all-star game.
