PITTSBURGH - ROOT SPORTS has increased its coverage of the West Virginia University Mountaineers as part of the regional sports network's new Wild & Wonderful Sports statewide programming line-up; it was announced today by Shawn McClintock, ROOT SPORTS Senior Vice President & General Manager.

"We announced our Wild & Wonderful Sports programming concept last week and are pleased to be able to add even more quality content to the package of WVU football and basketball programming ROOT SPORTS will carry this fall," said McClintock.

ROOT SPORTS will be televising two LIVE Mountaineer football games this fall, featuring Norfolk State at West Virginia on Sat., Sept. 10 at 1 p.m. and Bowling Green at West Virginia on Sat., Oct. 1 at 3:30 p.m. Prior to each WVU football home game, including home games airing on other sports networks, ROOT SPORTS will air a LIVE Mountaineer Game Time show Saturday mornings (or appropriate game day) at 11:00 a.m.

Kicking off Wild & Wonderful Sports will be the weekly football press conference featuring WVU head coach Dana Holgorsen beginning Aug. 30 and continuing each Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. throughout the season. Immediately following on ROOT SPORTS, West Virginia football games will be re-aired in a condensed one-hour version titled Mountaineer Rewind Tuesdays at 2 p.m. beginning with a replay of the Marshall game on Sept. 6.

Additionally, Mountaineers 360, a series of five one-hour specials featuring former players and WVU sports heritage, will be produced by the Mountaineer Sports Network and shown on ROOT SPORTS throughout the year as part of the network's Wild & Wonderful Sports. Details to be announced.

More than 15 cable and satellite providers across the state of West Virginia carry ROOT SPORTS and therefore will be providing the Wild & Wonderful Sports content. WVU Sports fans are encouraged to check local listings for the ROOT SPORTS channel location and Wild & Wonderful Sports TV line-up or visit ROOTSPORTS.com for details.

Eight West Virginia men's & several women's basketball games will air on ROOT SPORTS this winter with details to be announced at a later date.
