WACO, Texas – The West Virginia volleyball team lost a 3-0 (14-25, 19-25, 20-25) battle to Baylor tonight at the Ferrell Center.
In the third straight road match, the Mountaineers (2-6) struggled offensively against the Bears (6-1) who recorded 74 digs and four team blocks.
The first set was all about Baylor as the Bears started the set with a 20-10 lead. Freshman middle blocker Evyn McCoy attempted to spark the Mountaineer offense with two kills, but the Bears were too much and the team ultimately fell 25-14.

The Bears fought back and used service aces by Brittany Ridenour to gain a 7-4 advantage. The team could not stop the Bears’ offense as Baylor went on a 7-2 run to end the set.
Down two sets, WVU used kills from de Jong and senior outside hitter Kylie Armbruster to take an 11-8 lead in the third set. With no room for error, the team never let Baylor gain an advantage as the score was tied eight times.
