MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia women’s tennis coach Tina Samara has announced today the signing of Hailey Barrett to the 2012-13 roster.

“We are very excited to have Hailey on board,” says Samara. “She brings not only athletic ability and talent, but also a great attitude and work ethic. We are looking forward to seeing her develop both on and off the court over the next four years.”

Barrett (Lansing, Mich./Grand Ledge High) is a TennisRecruiting.net four-star athlete and is ranked as 109th-best player in the country, the ninth-best player in the Great Lakes region and second-best player in the state of Michigan. In the IMG Academy RPI, Barrett holds a ranking of No. 102.

As a freshman, Barrett advanced to the semifinal round of the Michigan state tennis tournament. In her sophomore year, Barrett played in the state tournament’s final round.
