Gold-Blue Debut & Haunted Hoops

West Virginia University will tip off the 2012-13 men’s basketball season with the Gold-Blue Debut presented by Coke Zero on Friday, Oct. 19, at 7:30 p.m., at the WVU Coliseum. Admission to the event is free with gates opening at 6:30 p.m.

A 40-minute officiated game between the Gold and Blue teams highlight just a few of the events that will occur. Other festivities include the introduction of the men’s players and staff, a speech from Bob Huggins and an autograph session with the team following the event on the Coliseum floor.

Additional events include a highlight video of the 2012 season and performances from the Mountaineer pep band, cheerleaders and dance team.

The Mountaineers finished with 19 victories in 2012 and advanced to their fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament under Huggins.

The West Virginia University women’s basketball team will tipoff the 2012-13 season with Haunted Hoops presented by Coke Zero, an exhibition game against Concord at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at the WVU Coliseum.

Haunted Hoops presented by Coke Zero is a Halloween-themed first look at the 2012-13 WVU women’s basketball team, and is free and open to the public. The evening’s events will include several children’s activities in the concourse, a highlight video of last season and performances from the Mountaineer pep band, cheerleaders, dance team and the Thrill Morgantown dance group.

Fans attending the game will have the opportunity to take a behind-the-scenes tour of the women’s side of the $24 million Basketball Practice Facility as part of an open house from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Fans wanting to tour the facility should enter through the Hall of Traditions entrance across from the Red Gate of the Coliseum.

WVU Coliseum gates open at 6 p.m. and fans are encouraged to wear their Halloween costume.
