ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE ATHLETIC DIRECTOR FOR STUDENT-ATHLETE ACADEMIC SERVICES: Administer the operation and conduct of the Student Services Academic Services division of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, assuring a commitment to academic excellence and to oversee the personal and career development programs for all student-athletes. Duties include organizing and implementing programs that contribute to the educational and personal growth of student-athletes. Provide oversight to a full-time staff of 15 employees and two academic performance centers. Maintain continual knowledge of all applicable NCAA, conference and University rules and regulations. Master’s degree required - PhD or EdD degree preferred - and six years previous experience in counseling, advising, teaching, tutoring or otherwise instructing student-athletes in a higher education environment. ATHLETIC TRAINER/CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR: West Virginia University invites applications for the position of an Athletic Trainer/Clinical Instructor. Duties and responsibilities include serving as an athletic trainer for Intercollegiate Athletics with primary responsibility of baseball, women’s volleyball and other sports as assigned. This position will entail clinical supervision, sport assignment travel, supervision of graduate assistants, and education of athletic training students, classroom teaching, and other duties as assigned. This is a twelve (12) month position. Master’s degree, BOC certification and minimum of two (2) years experience, preferably in intercollegiate athletics, are required. Experience with CAATE accredited athletic training curriculum, athletic training teaching and clinical supervision of athletic training students is preferred.
