Employment opportunities within the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at West Virginia University: Job Openings HEAD WOMEN'S TENNIS COACH: Recruit, guide, educate, and develop student-athletes to achieve their fullest potential with the fundamental characteristics and requirements that are necessary to conduct and produce a successful intercollegiate women’s tennis program while instilling the importance of academic achievements at the Division I level. Develop and implement efficient and effective practice and competition plans that will provide a strong foundation for the program to develop and become successful at the highest level. Monitor academic progress of all tennis student-athletes and ensure adherence to all academic and athletic policies. Must communicate and interact with personnel in all support areas in the athletic department, as well as within the university community, parents, alumni, fans, and letter-winners. Hire, train, and evaluate assistant coach and work closely with the athletic administration on all aspects of the program. Schedule home and away competitions. Maintain continual and thorough knowledge of all applicable NCAA, Conference, University and department rules and regulations. Bachelor’s degree and three-to-five years previous coaching experience, preferably at the Division I level, is required. Posses a proven success rate in recruiting prospective student-athletes. Assist with the monitoring and administration of the rules compliance program to ensure compliance with all aspects of NCAA and Big 12 Conference rules and regulations governing intercollegiate athletic operations. Master’s degree required. One year of experience in NCAA rules compliance required, preferably at the Division I level; experience while completing education as a graduate assistant is acceptable. SPORTS NUTRITIONIST: Sports Nutritionist for student-athletes at West Virginia University. The primary responsibilities will be to provide individual and group/team nutrition counseling and education to enhance the performance of competitive student-athletes. Serving as food and nutrition resources for coaches, athletic trainers, strength coaches and parents. A bachelor’s degree is required (master’s degree preferred). The following certifications are required: Registered Dietitian with American Dietetic Association, certification/license as required by state, food handlers card and Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD). Two years previous experience is required. Additional requirements include strong knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, outstanding organizational skills, computer literate and strong communication skills.
