Five Earn All-MAC Honors
The Mountaineers completed the regular season with a 9-5-2 overall record and a 4-2-1 mark in MAC play, tying for second place. Senior defender Eric Schoenle earned All-MAC First Team honors with his team-best six goals, including two game-winners this season. This marks the fourth-consecutive season Schoenle has earned all-conference postseason honors. Four Mountaineers earned a spot on the All-MAC Second Team: sophomore midfielder Andy Bevin, senior defender Peabo Doue, senior midfielder Uwem Etuk and senior midfielder Travis Pittman. Last season, Bevin was named the Big East Rookie of the Year and to the All-Big East Third Team and All-Big East Rookie Team. Akron’s Scott Caldwell was named the MAC Player of the Year, while Akron’s Dillon Serna and Bowling Green’s Anthony Grant were named MAC Co-Newcomers of the Year. Akron coach Caleb Porter was named the “Gary V. Palmisano” MAC Coach of the Year for the sixth-consecutive season. A full listing of All-MAC recipients can be found on |
