MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Despite going 1-1 last week on the road, the West Virginia women’s basketball team remains in the top 25 in both major polls this week.
In the Associated Press Poll, West Virginia dropped from No. 18 last week to No. 20 this week, and went from No. 21 to No. 24 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.
The Mountaineers are currently 17-3 overall and 6-2 in Big 12 play. WVU defeated Texas Tech 70-51 in Lubbock, while falling at Texas, 66-63, last week. WVU’s loss at Texas was its first road loss of the season and snapped a four-game win streak.
WVU will take on No. 23/21 Iowa State at 7 p.m., on Wednesday, Jan. 29 at the WVU Coliseum. Tickets are still available for Wednesday’s game. Tickets at the gate are $5 for adults, $3 for youth and seniors, while groups of 10 or more can pay just $2 each. WVU students are admitted free with a valid ID.
