Athletics Summer Camps Set

MORGANTOWN, W.Va.  – This weekend marks the start of 12 weeks of West Virginia athletics summer camps, clinics and sessions.
 
All camps and clinics are open to any and all entrants. Those interested in signing up should go online for more information and registration.
 
The Mountaineer baseball team is hosting nine camps, starting with the Prospect Camp, created specifically for high school players, on June 11. There are three Youth Camps set, with the first session from June 16-18 in Morgantown, the second held in Ripley, W.Va., July 17-18 and the final Youth Camp in in Hurricane, W.Va., from July 19-20. Youth camps are designed for players ages 5-12. Infield/Hitting and Pitcher/Catcher Camps are held June 21-22 for players ages 6-18. A special two-day camp designed to help build the bond between father and son through the game of baseball is the Father/Son Camp scheduled for June 28-29. Become a Mountaineer Camp provides players the opportunity to experience the true WVU player experience on Aug. 4-7. WVU baseball will hold one final prospect camp Aug. 9-10.
 
The WVU football program offers 10 different sessions this summer, including three day camps on June 8, 22 and July 26 for grades 9-12. A Mini-Mountaineer Camp is offered June 12 for grades pre-K through second grade, which is three hours of basic fundamentals, competitive fun and a tour of the facilities. Youth Camp is from June 13-15 for grades 3-7 and will provide exposure to all positions as well as the Mountaineer Football experience.
 
Varsity Camp and Kicking Camp will each run from June 15-17, for athletes in grades 8-12. Team Camp is held from June 18-20 and registration includes enrollment in the 7-on-7 Pass Tournament and Big Man Camp, which will take place on June 20-21. 
 
Men’s basketball tips off its camp experience this weekend with the June 6-8 Fantasy Camp for those 21 and older. The Team Camp will be held June 20-22 for all high school boys basketball teams, Individual Camp is June 22-25 for boys ages 8-18 and Day Camp is Aug. 4-7 for boys ages 7-14.
 
Five different camps are scheduled by the men’s soccer program, beginning with the Youth Academy Session I held June 9-12, and Session II held Aug. 4-7. High School/Team Academy is for a minimum of 12 players per team and set for June 20-22. The Collegiate Prep Academy is scheduled for July 16-19 and is limited to grades 7-12. The One Day Collegiate Showcase will be held on August 31.
 
The WVU volleyball team will host 10 camps and clinics, including two Serving Clinics on July 16 and 26, an Attacking Clinic on July 17, a Libero Clinic on July 25, followed by a Setting Clinic and the KC Attacking Camp, each set for July 28. All clinics are for girls and boys of all ages and abilities.
 
The Mighty Musket Day Camp is open to girls and boys from 3-12 years old and is held from July 7-10. The Be a Mountaineer Camp is set for July 12, and is tailored to the high-level varsity athlete looking for an extra tune-up of their volleyball skills. Advanced Skills Camp, held July 13-15, is for players entering sixth grade and up, who want to take their game to the next level. Team Camp is set for July 29-31.
 
The women’s basketball team has three camps scheduled, starting with a Day Camp held June 16-18 for girls, grades kindergarten through fifth grade, and boys, ages 5-6. The Team Summer Shootout is open to all middle school, high school and AAU/club teams on June 27-29 with a guarantee of six to seven games. The Mountaineer Experience Individual Camp is for girls, grades 6-12, on June 20-27.
 
The Mountaineer women’s soccer program has three opportunities to attend camp, starting with a Day Camp designed for specific age groups, June 9-13. The Residential/Team Camp, which is set for July 19-22, is geared toward enhancing technical ability, as well as tactical awareness. The final women’s soccer camp is the Summer Elite Camp, held July 26-27, for student-athletes looking to pursue a soccer career after high school.
 
The women’s track and cross country teams will host a Cross Country Camp and a Pole Vault Camp, with each camp running from June 29-July 3.
