Diving: Divers Complete NCAA Zones
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Haily VandePoel and Richard Pokorny of the WVU diving squads wrapped up the NCAA Zone “A” Championships this afternoon in Buffalo, N.Y. “Today was a great day to set the bar high for post season and next year,” says coach Michael Grapner. “Both divers were on the board they are most comfortable with. It has been a great season for Haily and Rich.” VandePoel had a score of 264 on the three-meter, landing her 14th place. Her six dives included a forward 2.5 somersault pike, forward 1.5 somersault two twist free, reverse 2.5 somersault tuck, back 2.5 somersault tuck, inward 2.5 somersault tuck and a back 1.5 somersault 2.5 twist free. Pokorny finished 29th on the one-meter with a score of 247.00. His six dives were a forward 2.5 somersault pike, inward 2.5 somersault tuck, back 2.5 somersault tuck, reverse 2.5 somersault tuck, reverse 1.5 somersault 2.5 twist free and forward 1.5 somersault two twist free. |
