Men's Basketball: Ebanks Rookie of the WeekBy John Antonik for MSNsportsNET.com March 8, 2009
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – For the fourth time this season, West Virginia’s Devin Ebanks has been named Big East rookie of the week. The 6-foot-9 forward scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in West Virginia’s 62-59 loss to sixth-ranked Louisville Saturday night. Earlier in the week against DePaul, Ebanks scored 14 points and grabbed 14 boards in an 82-63 win over DePaul. For the week Ebanks showed averages of 15.5 points, 12.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. Ebanks, named to the Big East all-rookie team announced earlier this morning, has captured the league rookie of the week honors more than any other freshman in the Big East this year. The Big East rookie of the year will be named before the start of the Big East Tournament Tuesday.
