MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Sophomore Eric Schoenle of the West Virginia University men’s soccer team has been named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week for his performance against William & Mary and Old Dominion last weekend in Norfolk, Va.

The Mountaineers went 1-1 during the Stihl Soccer Classic, losing to the Tribe 2-1 and then defeating the Monarchs by the same score.

Schoenle scored the game-winning goal in the 85th minute of play to give the Mountaineers the victory against Old Dominion, while also playing in all 180 minutes of action over the weekend.

The Yardley, Pa., native, was named to the all-tournament team, his second of the season. The defender was also on the all-tournament team for the WVU Classic.

WVU will be back in action this weekend when it hosts the BIG EAST Partner Weekend at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium. The Mountaineers will first take on Cal State Fullerton on Friday, Sept. 17 at 7:30 p.m.
