Sarah Miles
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia senior guard Sarah Miles has been named to the Nancy Lieberman Award Players Making the Buzz list.

The award is a national project of the Rotary Club of Detroit to honor the women’s college basketball point guard of the year. The criterion for the award is the floor leadership, play-making and ball-handling skills that personified Nancy Lieberman during her career.

Lieberman is a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and holds the distinction of being the only athlete to receive the Wade Trophy twice.

Sportswriters from across the country will nominate the finalists and eventual winner. The list of the final nominees is determined by the writers by early February. This list is sent to all the sportswriters and they have until early April to return their final ballot. The final ballot has the writers’ top point guard pick plus the three finalists. The winner is announced during the NCAA Final Four weekend.

Currently, Miles is one of 23 named on the Players Making the Buzz list. For more information, go to www.pointguard.org.
