Women's Basketball: Ali Recognized
Ali’s double-double consisted of 21 points and matched a career-high 13 rebounds to pave the way to tie a season-high point total of 90 points for the Mountaineers. Ali shot 52.9 percent (9-of-17) from the field and pulled down eight offensive boards. She also converted 3-of-4 attempts from the free throw line and dished out an assist. The Williamsport, Pa., native has now led the Mountaineers’ scoring and rebounding efforts in three-straight games and totals eight double-doubles this season. Her efforts helped WVU end a three-game skid and assisted WVU head coach Mike Carey to his 200th career win at the helm of the Mountaineer program. The West Virginia women’s basketball team moved up from No. 21 in the Associated Press poll last week to No. 19 in this week’s poll. The Mountaineers take to the hardwood for a 7 p.m. matchup, tomorrow, with No. 8 Notre Dame at the WVU Coliseum. The game will be broadcast on CBS College Sports with Deb Antonelli and Dave Ryan on the call. Tuesday’s game is also a Dairy Mart Dollar Night. Stop by any Morgantown area Dairy Mart to pick up a $1 admission coupon to the game. |
