MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - An eighth inning grand slam by Justin McDavid led West Virginia to an 8-5 comeback win to claim the four-game series with Canisius on Sunday afternoon at Hawley Field.

Down 5-4 in the bottom of the eighth, McDavid came to the plate and blasted a full-count pitch to right center, driving in Brady Wilson, Cody Dolan and Kevin Griffin, to take the 8-5 lead. Ryan McBroom scored the first run of the inning after hitting a single to left field and was driven in by pinch hitter LK Thompson, who grounded out to first base.

Griffin reached base after getting hit by a pitch, and then walks from pinch hitter Dolan and Wilson loaded the bases for McDavid, who slugged his first home run of the season.
