Fun Activities Planned for Friday

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is offering a variety of activities for fans of all ages in association with the Gold-Blue Spring Football Game presented by Kroger on Friday, April 29.

An invitation only luncheon honoring Mountaineer great Garrett Ford is presented by Chesapeake Energy and takes place at the Morgantown Event Center at noon.

Fans are invited to purchase authentic WVU football gear at the inaugural “Mountaineer Gear Sale” held at the Caperton Indoor Practice Facility from 2 to 6 p.m.

The WVU Varsity Club and the Mountaineer Athletic Club is hosting a former Mountaineer Coaches “Chalk Talk” event presented by Charleston Law Firm, Bucci, Bailey & Javins, LC at the Waterfront Place Hotel at 4 p.m. The event features a Mountaineer greats autograph session at 3 p.m. Tickets are required to attend the autograph session. Fans are invited to a free Davisson Brothers Band Concert in Milan Puskar Stadium Lot K-4 (west side) at 5:30 p.m. Lawn chairs are permitted at the concert but not inside the stadium for the game. Concessions will be sold at the concert.

The Old Timers' Game will kickoff the in-stadium festivities at 7 p.m. The 2011 Gold-Blue Game presented by Kroger will begin at 7:45 p.m. Tickets will be available at Milan Puskar Stadium beginning at 5 p.m. Tickets will be sold at the ticket office outside the north gate and at the west gate.
