MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – A program-best seven West Virginia University student-athletes were named to the College Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) all-Academic Team.

“It’s great to see so many student-athletes rewarded for their hard work in the classroom and earn this academic honor,” says coach Jon Hammond. “The team produced one of its highest overall GPAs this past year, and I am very proud of everyone’s efforts away from the range and in the classroom.”

Tops among this year’s honorees are four-year winners, seniors Andy Lamson and Ashley Zultanky. Classmates Kyle Smith and Nicco Campriani also were honored, their third and second career awards, respectively.

Junior Justin Pentz also was honored for the third season, while classmate Michael Kulbacki scored his second award. Sophomore Petra Zublasing rounds out the Mountaineer honorees with her first career award.

Fifth year coach Jon Hammond has placed at least five student-athletes on the team each season since his arrival in 2006. Eighty-four Mountaineers have earned the honor since it was first awarded in 1991.
