Swimming: Nugent Completes Championships
A Greater Manchester, England, native, Nugent swam in the 50 fly, 100 fly and 200 fly, finishing in the top five of each event. “Mandie had a tremendous performance at the British National Championships,” coach Vic Riggs said. “Her 50 fly and 100 fly times convert to personal best times in yards, with her 200 fly time being right on her yards time. Her preparation this spring was great and it showed in her results. It’s a good sign for next season and her Olympic Trials.” After finishing fourth (28.30) in the preliminary round of the 50 fly, Nugent improved her time and finished fifth (28.04) in the finals. In the 100 fly, Nugent again took fourth (1:00.95) in the preliminary round and finished fourth (1:00.70) in the finals. On the final day of competition, Nugent swam the 200 fly and was third (2:14.50) after the preliminary round and took fourth (2:13.40) in the finals. |
