Men's Soccer: BIG EAST Honors Bevin

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia men’s soccer freshman Andy Bevin has been named the BIG EAST Rookie of the Week for his efforts in two games last week.

The Napier, New Zealand, native helped the No. 10 Mountaineers to a 1-1 mark on the week and scored all three goals in the two games. Bevin scored against No. 4 Maryland in a 3-1 loss and then scored the game-tying and game-winning goals against Binghamton on Friday in a 2-1 victory.

Last week, teammate Eric Schoenle was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week.

WVU (2-1-0) returns to action at UC Santa Barbara on Friday, Sept. 9, at 10 p.m.
