MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 12 West Virginia University men’s soccer team had two players earn BIG EAST weekly awards for their performances last week as midfielder Shadow Sebele was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week and forward Andy Bevin was named the BIG EAST Rookie of the Week.

Sebele scored two game-winning goals and earned seven points this weekend in a 4-1 victory over Richmond on Friday and a 3-1 win over Duquesne on Sunday. He dished out three assists to rank second behind current volunteer coach Dan Stratford, in all-time assists mark at WVU.

Bevin had two goals and an assist in a victory against Richmond, collecting a five-point game. It marked the second two-goal game of his season and second time that he has won the BIG EAST Rookie of the Week honor.

The squad will open the BIG EAST portion of the schedule with a match against USF at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 25, at 3:30 p.m. The match will also be nationally televised on CBS Sports Network and will feature Eric Frede on the play-by-play and Richard Broad handling color commentary. The game has been designated as a “Dollar Day” with all tickets, hot dogs, popcorn and Coca-Colas for just one dollar each.
