MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Junior Shadow Sebele of the West Virginia University men’s soccer team has been named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week and the National Team of the Week for his performances in weekend sweep of Richmond and Duquesne.

Against Richmond, Sebele scored a beautiful bending goal from 20 yards out that went between the crossbar and keeper, while he assisted the fourth goal of the evening. On Sunday against Duquesne, he assisted the first goal by drilling a free kick into the box from the corner kick area, while also putting a corner kick on the feet of Uzi Tayou for the third goal of the game and his second assist. Sebele scored in the 26th minute on a free kick with another bending shot from 25 yards out.

Sebele also now ranks second all-time in career assists at WVU with 20 in his career. Current volunteer coach Dan Stratford holds the all-time career record with 27 assists from 2004-07.

West Virginia begins BIG EAST play with a home match against USF on Sunday, Sept. 25, at 3:30 p.m.
