MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - West Virginia University’s combined varsity athletic teams have a Graduation Success Rate (GSR) score of 80 percent according to data released today by the NCAA.

WVU’s average GSR score of 80 percent is its highest since the NCAA began collecting GSR data with the entering freshman class of 1995. WVU’s score is up four points from last year’s average and 10 points from two years ago. The most recent Graduation Success Rates are based on the four entering freshmen classes in Division I from 2001-02 through 2004-05.

The Graduation Success Rate was developed by the NCAA as part of its academic reform initiative to more accurately measure the academic success of Division I student-athletes.
