MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Junior Eric Schoenle of the West Virginia men’s soccer team has been named to the Team of the Week for his performance in a pair of 2-0 road victories over Seton Hall and Notre Dame last week.

Schoenle anchored a back line that allowed just six shots on-goal and preserved two shutouts, while also winning the header off the corner kick that led to the game-winning goal at Notre Dame. Schoenle helped hold Notre Dame to 10 shots, a team that normally averages 17 and Seton Hall to 8 shots, a team that normally averages 12.

The Mountaineers return to action on Sunday, Nov. 6, at 3:30 p.m., in a BIG EAST Quarterfinal match against a team to be determined.
