Swimming: Eight Head to Winter Nationals

MORGANTOWN, W.Va.- Eight members of the men’s and women’s West Virginia swimming teams will head to Atlanta for the USA Swimming 2011 AT&T Winter National Championships from Dec. 1-3.

The meet will be held at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center. Prelims will begin at 9 a.m., followed by finals at 6 p.m., daily.

Juniors Rachael Burnett, Breanna McCann and Mandie Nugent will be representing the women’s team, while seniors Taylor Camp and Eric Johnson, along with juniors Bryce Bohman and Jake Querciagrossa, will represent the men.

Burnett and Nugent will compete in the 400 free the first day, while McCann will swim in the 200 IM. Burnett will swim in the 400 IM and the 200 free the second day. Nugent will swim the 100 fly and McCann the 100 breast on the second day as well. The third day, Burnett will swim in the 800 free, Nugent the 200 fly and McCann the 200 breast.

Querciagrossa will begin day one with the 400 IM, followed by Squires and Camp in the 50 free. Day two, Querciagrossa will swim in the 400 IM, Camp the 100 fly and Bohman the 100 back. Camp will swim the 200 fly the third day, along with the 100 free with Squires. Bohman, Johnson and Querciagrossa will compete in the 200 back the third day.
