Diving: Three to Compete in Miami Invitational

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Three from the men’s and women’s West Virginia diving teams will head to Miami Invitational from Dec. 1-3, at the Nixon Aquatic Center in Oxford, Ohio. The invitational will begin at 2 p.m. each day, with finals beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Haily VandePoel, Jennifer Rey and Ethan Robinson will all be competing on the 1-meter and the 3-meter for the Mountaineers. They will not only be competing against other collegiate divers, but also the Chinese Guangdong diving team.
Altogether 30 males and 35 females will be competing in the invitational. Some of the standouts competing in the invitational include the 2011 NCAA 3-meter champion Abby Johnston from Duke, as well as 2010 NCAA 3-meter champion and 2008 Olympian Kelci Bryant from Minnesota. The featured athlete on the one- and three-meter boards is Wu Minghong, the world's 10th-ranked diver in 2010.
Competing among the men on the 10-meter platform will be China's Chen Aisen, the world's top-ranked diver in 2010 and 2011, and Wu Jun, who is currently ranked 11th in the world.
