Track: Opening Season with Holiday Classic
Field events will start at 9 a.m. with the running events to follow at 10 a.m. and continue on a rolling schedule until approximately 4:30 p.m. Schools competing include California (PA), Frostburg State, Glenville State, Juniata, Washington & Jefferson, Waynesburg, Wheeling Jesuit and West Virginia Wesleyan. “We are excited to begin another year of track and field,” says WVU coach Sean Cleary. “The girls have been hard at work since June and are ready to have another successful season. We have a lot of talented athletes coming back, so we are hopeful as another year begins.” The Mountaineers placed in the Top 20 at both indoor and outdoor track in 2011 and return six All-American student-athletes from a year ago, including Chelsea Carrier, the two-time reigning Mid-Atlantic Field Athlete of the Year. In 2011, a total of 13 All-America performances were turned in and the team tied a school-best 12 athletes being sent to the NCAA regional. Live scoring will be provided through this link. A full list of results will be posted on MSNsportsNET.com at the conclusion of the meet. Tags WVU Track and Field, Sean Cleary |
