Wrestling: Six Grapplers Ranked

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – A total of six West Virginia wrestlers are ranked in four different collegiate wrestling rankings this week, including redshirt junior Lance Bryson.

Bryson (174), who entered the Wrestling Report rankings for the first time this season, is ranked No. 28. The Shoaf, Pa., native holds an 11-4 overall record this season.

Junior Shane Young (125), who has compiled a 9-0 record this season, is ranked No. 19 by InterMat and No. 18 by Amateur Wrestling News.

Redshirt junior Colin Johnston currently holds down the No. 21 spot in Wrestling Report, No. 9 in WIN and No. 12 in Amateur Wrestling News. Johnston is 6-0 this season.

Redshirt sophomore Nathan Pennesi (141) is ranked No. 21 by Wrestling Report, No. 19 by InterMat, No. 19 by WIN and No. 20 by Amateur Wrestling News. The Latrobe, Pa., native is 12-2 overall this season.

Redshirt senior Matt Ryan holds a 5-1 overall record this season and is ranked No. 20 by Wrestling Report, No. 17 by InterMat, No. 19 by WIN, and No. 16 by Amateur Wrestling News.

Redshirt senior Brandon Williamson (HWT) checks in at No. 23 in the Wrestling Report rankings and has a 10-3 record this season.

The Mountaineers will return to action this Sunday, as they to travel to State College, Pa., for a dual meet against defending national champion, No. 3 Penn State.
