Volleyball: Allen Signs with Mountaineers

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University volleyball coach Jill Kramer announces the addition of Arielle Allen of Lewistown, Mont., to the 2012 recruiting class.
Allen, a 6-foot middle blocker, has signed a Grant-in-Aid to attend WVU starting this semester after spending the last two seasons at Western Wyoming Community College.
In two seasons at WWCC, Allen played in 261 sets and recorded 537 kills and 226 blocks. Allen also helped lead her team to a third and second place finish at the National Junior College Athletic Association National Championship in 2010 and 2011, respectively.
After helping lead her team to the NJCAA finals this year, Allen was named first team all-conference, AVCA second team all-America, NJCAA second team all-America, academic all-conference and all-region and she was also named to the Region IX all-region team.
Prior to WWCC, Allen played at Fergus High where she was a first team all-conference selection from 2006-08, an all-state selection from 2006-07 and she was named academic all-state from 2005-08. Allen helped lead the Golden Eagles to a Divisional Championship crown from 2006-08 while also leading Fergus to a State Championship title in 2007 and 2008. For her efforts, Allen was named the 2007 State Class A Tournament MVP and was also a 2007 Montana Superstate selection.
Allen joins Nikki Attea (East Amherst, N.Y./Williamsville North), Monique Kemp (Pembroke Pines, Fla./Dade Christian), Kendall LaVine ((Boulder, Colo./Fairview), Anna Panagiotakopoulos (Phoenix, Ariz./Xavier College Preparatory) and Brittany Sample (Lewisville, Texas/Hebron) in the 2012 incoming class.
