Women's Basketball: Bussie Earns BIG EAST Honor
The Randallstown, Md., native averaged 14.5 points per game, 6.0 rebounds per game and 3.5 blocks per game. Bussie opened the week with a game-leading 19 points, 17 in the second half, at No. 2/2 Connecticut on 66.7 percent (6-of-9) shooting. She converted 58.3 percent (7-of-12) of her free throws and had a pair of blocks and steals. In a 61-56 win over Villanova, Bussie pulled down six rebounds in route to helping WVU out-rebound the Wildcats and recorded 10 points as one of four players scoring in double figures. Bussie put up five blocks against Villanova and grabbed three steals. Bussie now leads WVU in scoring in conference only games as she averages 16.0 points per game. Bussie becomes the West Virginia women’s basketball team’s third player named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll as Ayana Dunning and Taylor Palmer have each earned the accolade this season. The Mountaineers return to the court, Tuesday, Jan. 10 at 7 p.m. as they face Seton Hall at the WVU Coliseum. |
