Wrestling: Morales Enters Rankings

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – After wrestling his first match of the season last Friday against Maryland, sophomore Michael Morales (141) has entered the Wrestling Report rankings this week.

The Brick, N.J., native came in at No. 30 and boasts a career record of 19-10 overall.

Also ranked were junior Shane Young, redshirt sophomore Nathan Pennesi, redshirt junior Lance Bryson, redshirt senior Matt Ryan and redshirt senior Brandon Williamson.

Young (125) is ranked No. 23 by Wrestling Report and has compiled a 14-3 record this season.

Pennesi (133), who made the move from 141 pounds to 133 pounds last week, is ranked No. 26 by Wrestling Report and No. 17 by InterMat.

Bryson (174), who sports a 17-7 record this season, is ranked No. 18 by Wrestling Report, No. 20 by Amateur Wrestling News and No. 19 by Wrestling Insider NewsMagazine.

Ryan (184) is ranked No. 21 by Wrestling Report, No 18 by WIN and No. 17 by InterMat. The Eighty-Four, Pa., native is 8-3 on the season.

Williamson (HWT) comes in at No. 23 in the Wrestling Report rankings and holds a 14-6 record this season.

The Mountaineers will return to action this Friday when they travel to East Lansing, Mich., for a dual meet against Michigan State at 7:30 p.m.
