Holgorsen Halftime Interview
Holgorsen and his coaching staff were hosting recruits at the Coliseum this afternoon for today's game. During his halftime interview with the Big East Network, Holgorsen touched on his team’s big 70-33 victory over Clemson in the 2012 Discover Orange Bowl and the departure of longtime defensive coordinator Jeff Casteel. “Jeff has been here for a long time and we were really thankful for the service he gave to this great university,” said Holgorsen. “(Transition) happens in college football. Every university across the country has to replace coaches at times.” Holgorsen also announced this afternoon the addition of longtime Oklahoma State assistant coach Joe DeForest to the Mountaineer staff. “We just announced here a little bit ago that Joe DeForest, who I worked with in the past and who has spent 12 years at Oklahoma State, has joined our staff,” said Holgorsen. “He’s going to help us be able to go back into the Southwest. He’s got some pretty good ties there as I do.” Holgorsen added that there will be future additions to the staff soon. “He’s step number one, and then we’ll get a few more quality guys in here in the next few days,” said Holgorsen.
