Wrestling: Six Grapplers Hold Steady in Rankings
Junior Shane Young (125) holds an 18-4 overall record and is ranked No. 26 by Wrestling Report. Redshirt sophomore Nathan Pennesi (133), who is coming off of two wins that raised his team-leading total to 23, is ranked No. 24 by Wrestling Report. Sophomore Michael Morales (141) is ranked No. 32 by Wrestling Report and has a 4-2 overall record this season. Junior Lance Bryson (174) comes in at No. 22 in the Wrestling Report poll and No. 20 in Amateur Wrestling News’ rankings. Redshirt senior Matt Ryan (184) has the highest ranking of any Mountaineer, as he is ranked No. 17 by InterMat. The Eighty-Four, Pa., native is also ranked No. 18 Wrestling Insider Newsmagazine, No. 20 by AWN and No. 20 by Wrestling Report. Ryan has a 13-3 record this season. Redshirt senior Brandon Williamson (HWT), who is currently on a six-match winning streak that has upped his record to 19-6 overall, is ranked No. 18 by AWN and No. 24 by Wrestling Report.
