Women's Soccer: McCarthy Headed To Greece

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia women’s soccer player Bry McCarthy will join the Canadian Women’s National Team for a training camp in Greece. The full national team extended a pre-camp invitation as its prepares for the 2012 Cyprus Women's Cup on Feb. 27 - March 7.

McCarthy, who leaves Morgantown today, will stay until Feb. 26, with the opportunity to be asked to stay for Cyprus Cup action. Canada opens tournament play on Feb. 28 against Scotland.

Canada is a three-time Cyprus Women's Cup champion, having won titles in 2008, 2010 and 2011. McCarthy, who has made full national team appearances before, was a member of last year's championship squad.

All training camps and competitions will culminate with this summer’s 2012 Olympic Games in London.
