Women's Basketball: BIG EAST Bracket
WVU advances to the second round based on a first-round bye earned as the No. 5 seed with a 21-8 overall record and an 11-5 record in the BIG EAST. The Mountaineers have competed in the BIG EAST tournament for 10 consecutive seasons under head coach Mike Carey. Carey has won more postseason BIG EAST games than any other coach in WVU history as he holds an 11-10 conference tournament record. WVU has made two appearances in the BIG EAST Championship game in the history of the program (2006 & 2010), both under Carey. WVU’s second-round game will be broadcast live on BIG EAST TV and will stream live free at www.bigeast.org. The quarterfinal and semifinal rounds held on March 4-5 will be on ESPNU, while the championship game on Tuesday, March 6 at 7 p.m., will be carried live on ESPN/ESPN2.
