The last two days have been busy days for the Mountaineers as they’ve been preparing for the BIG EAST Championship. The team left Morgantown on Thursday afternoon, after practice at the Coliseum and a brief session with the media, arriving in a cold and snowy Hartford around 7 p.m. After going straight to dinner at a local Italian restaurant, the team headed back to the hotel to get ready for an early Friday morning wake-up call.
The phones rang at 7:30 this morning to wake the team up for breakfast and taping at the hotel followed by a two-hour practice session at Trinity College. Following practice, the team headed over to the XL Center to watch the game between Syracuse and Providence for an opportunity to see who they would be playing in their second round game on Saturday.
The girls had some free time after the game, going to the mall to get some shopping in before heading back to the hotel for dinner and a team meeting.
Four games will be played at the XL Center tomorrow during the second round of play. West Virginia and Syracuse will start the day’s action with a noon tip. Syracuse advanced to the second round after defeating Providence earlier today, 57-47. Following that game, USF held on to advance past Pitt, 60-59, and will meet DePaul tomorrow afternoon in a 2 p.m. tip.
The winner of tonight’s first round game between Seton Hall and Villanova will advance to play Louisville tomorrow in a 6 p.m. tip, while the winner of tonight’s second match-up between Marquette and Cincinnati will advance to play Rutgers tomorrow at 8 p.m.
