MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - With conference play opening this weekend, WVU officials have revealed several promotional days slated for this year's Mountaineer baseball schedule.

"Our players and coaches are excited about our upcoming home games and promotional dates at Hawley Field," coach Greg Van Zant says. "Mountaineer baseball games are both fun and affordable, and we look forward to see the fans come to the park.”

Mountaineer fans can pick up the 2012 baseball schedule poster featuring West Virginians Josh Harlow, Matt Frazer, Corey Walter and coach Greg Van Zant on Poster Day this Friday, March 23, as West Virginia faces Connecticut at 5 p.m.

Five games have been selected as "Dollar Days/Nights" with all tickets, hot dogs, popcorn and Coca-Colas available for purchase for just one dollar each. The Mountaineers will open BIG EAST play with a Dollar Night on Friday, March 23, against Connecticut at 5 p.m. The other included games are Saturday, April 7, against Villanova at 1 p.m.; Friday, April 20, against Pitt at 7:05 p.m.; Saturday, May 5, versus Louisville at 2 p.m., and Friday, May 18, versus USF at 7:05 p.m.

WVU's Sunday afternoon contest on April 22 with Pitt is a "GOLD RUSH" and all fans are encouraged to wear gold and pack Hawley Field for the game. Youth league players attending that game will also receive a free baseball courtesy of Through With Chew.

The team will hold postgame instructional camps following games on Sunday, March 25, and Sunday, May 6. The camps will involve instruction from the coaching staff and players.

Finally, Senior Day is set for the Mountaineers’ home finale on May 19 against USF.
